Rabbi Elie Cohen, a notable member of the Chabad community in Montreal, Canada, returned home on Thursday after spending over 200 days in the hospital.
He received a warm welcome from family members and neighbors on Chol Hamoed Sukkos after being discharged from the Montreal General Hospital.
Rabbi Cohen is an Associate Professor of Mathematics and Statistics at Concordia University who teaches Gemara and Chassidus classes for over 50 years.
He battled a severe case of Covid-19 that was accentuated by complications and moments when hope was nearly lost.
“An open miracle,” a family commented. “The nurse told us that everyone who walked in and had his situation did not survive. It is an open miracle and we thank Hashem for it!”
