Over thirty years ago, when the Rebbe began encouraging opening new mosdos, Bais Rivka wanted to take part in the Rebbe’s initiative. The Bais Rivka Faculty thought of launching a Yiddish Lemudei Kodesh only class for the first and second graders.
Mrs. Tiechtel recalls, “It was the year our daughter Mina passed away, so we wanted to call it the Alta Mina Yiddish Class.…We weren’t sure if it was the right thing, because in Bais Rivka this was never a possibility.” So, all of the principals wrote to the Rebbe to ask if it was the right thing to do.
