A large children’s rally in the merit of the safety of Israel was held at Bais Menachem Mendel Lubavitch in Pomona, NY.
More than 400 children, as well as many parents and community members from Pomona and the Greater Monsey area were in attendance.
“Our goal was to fulfill the Rebbe’s request for a Kinus Yeladim regarding the Yom Kippur War, and to fulfill the recent directives of our Rabbonim to strengthen Torah, Tefilah, and Tzedaka,” organizers said.
The event began with Tzedaka (each child was given a coin to put in a Pushka), opening remarks and words of inspiration from R. Weber, the Rav of the shul, and a short video.
R. Yechiel Krisch, the organizer of the event, and Magid Shiur in the community, and R. Yisroel Silverstein, a veteran MeChanech and Magid Shiur in the community, led the children in Psukim, Tehillim, and further words of inspiration. As the children filed out of the shul, they each received candies and enjoyed a pizza dinner generously donated by Pies N’ Fries.
By incredible Hashgacha Pratis, R. Krisch led an Iggros Chabura over the past year that covered the Rebbe’s letters from תשל׳׳ג, and the Chabura therefore studied the Rebbe’s response to the Yom Kippur War (and his repeated call for Kinus Yeladim that summer) only weeks ago.
The board of BMML was also involved in planning the event, and should be mentioned: Yitzchak Broyde, Eli Cohen, Yisrael D. Friedman, Boruch Van Halem, Mendy Glick, Reuvi Litzman, Shmueli Tenenbaum.
