During a recent visit to Colombia, Rabbi Yona Metzger, Chief Rabbi of Israel, visited the Casa Lubavitch Chabad Center, accompanied by Head Shliach Rabbi Yehoshua Rosenfeld of Bogota.
The Chief Rabbi blessed the children of Gan Lubavitch school, and spoke to them about how lucky they are to be able to receive an excellent Jewish education thanks to the Rebbe’s vision and to the local shluchim and Rabbis.
As he left the Chabad house, Rabbi Metzger noticed the building dedication in honor of the Rohr family. He posed for a picture in front of the plaque and spoke about the zechus that the Rohr family had in establishing its first chabad house in Colombia – in the words of the Chief Rabbi – “One of the most beautiful Chabad Houses in the world.”
The Chief Rabbi also said that he is envious of the great merit that the Rohr family has in supporting Torah institutions across the world.
