Israel’s Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Dovid Lau, who is visiting New York this week, paid a visit to the Mikvah Mei Chaya Mushka in Crown Heights.
Rabbi Lau and his wife Tzipporah were given a tour of the “most beautiful Mikvah in the world” by founder Rabbi Moshe Pinson and his wife, Chani.
Rabbi Lau and his wife were amazed at the magnificence of the luxurious and spacious Mikvah, remarking that it is the most beautiful Mikvah that they have ever seen.
Rabbi Lau inquired as to what compelled Pinson to spearhead the building of the Mikvah, and was told that the community had grown immensely in recent years, and the one Mikvah was not sufficient for all the residents and visitors to the neighborhood.
Rabbi Lau was shown that in the building of the Mikvah, from the halachic aspect as well, no expense was spared, with two Mikvah wells being built in the most mehudar fashion, with the guidance of Rabbi Elozor Raichik and Rabbi Katz. Rabbi Pinson related that all the Crown Heights Rabbonim – including Rabbi Avrohom Osdoba, Rabbi Yaacov Schwei and Rabbi Yosef Braun – have given their hechsher on the Mikvah as well.
“Rabbi Lau was amazed at the size of the Mikvah, and the fact that it was built with 2 reservoirs,” Rabbi Pinson said. “He remarked that it’s amazing how everything in America is built in such a beautiful and large manner.”
So beautiful and enjoyable, I am so grateful to all those that helped make this happen!
