More than 1,000 Jews, representing communities from across the country and around the world, will gather next week in Chicago for JLI’s 9th annual National Jewish Retreat for five days.
The event will take place at the magnificent, historic Palmer House Hilton Hotel in downtown Chicago.
The participants will choose from over 180 sessions featuring the best of Jewish scholarship. The lineup of more than 70 scholars includes Rabbi Adin Even Yisroel Steinsaltz, Rabbi Yitzchak Schochat, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Jacobson, Rabbi Yona Reiss, Rabbi Moshe Bryski, Rabbi Meir Soloveichik, Rabbi Shmuel Lew, Professor Yaakov Brawer and Rabbi Shais Taub among many others.
On Wednesday, the retreat will host the inaugural National Conference of Jewish Lawyers, chaired by four prominent Chicago attorneys and featuring former U.S. Attorney General, Michael Mukasey, attorney Nat Lewin, Rabbi Adin Stensaltz, Rabbi Shlomo Yaffe and Professors Sheldon Nahmod and Steven Resnicoff.
On Thursday will be a Jewish Women’s Day organized by the Rosh Chodesh Society, JLI’s women’s studies division. A Jewish medical ethics track that is accredited for continuing medical education will run throughout the retreat and will feature experts in the field including Rabbi Dr. Edward Reichman and Touro College President, Dr. Alan Kadish.
More information is available on the retreat’s site, jretreat.com.
I look at the lineup of Chabad speakers that we have. Best of the best all in one room. They’ve all been back year after year and the audience keeps growing. I will be there. Will you?
A must if you haven’t been.
This is my 5th Retreat. It’s a GREAT event !!!
I remember his speech at the JLI shluchim conference and ever since wanted my b.batim to hear him.?
If you know any women in the greater Illinois area, do them a favor and urge them to participate in the Rosh Chodesh Society Jewish Women’s Day. I attended last year in the DC area and it has truly been the catalyst for growth in my Judaism. I met wonderful people, many of whom I’m still in touch with. Thank you JLI for giving us women a platform for quality Jewish learning.
Sounds magnificent! Hatzlacha rabbah
