Cheder Ohr Menachem in Crown Heights gathered for a Kinus to mark Chof Ches Nissan on Friday at Eshel Hall in Crown Heights.
The kinus started with the Rebbe’s words on 28 Nisan and Divrei Chizuk from the Menahel Rabbi Menachem Mendel Yusewitz about the responsibility of each and every Talmid to do all he can to bring Moshiach now.
To the surprise of the Talmidim, Sgan Menahel Rabbi Yossi Overlander announced a New Mivtzah of Mishnayos Ba’al Peh as part of the great efforts to bring about the Geulah.
Rabbi Overlander gave a special presentation of the Mivtzah rules and about the amazing prizes which students can receive for memorizing lines of Mishnayos by heart. Talmidim will be receiving special points for each Mishnah, Perek and Masechtah, which they can use to “buy” sets of Sifrei Kodesh of all kinds.
“This is something we never had before,” say Program and Mivtzah Directors Rabbi Avrohom Rainitz and Rabbi Chanoch Hecht, who successfully planned the Mivtzah.
“It is going to follow the Talmidim for a long period of almost 3 months and throughout the summer program, as we are also emphasizing Chazoro – review in our point system,” they said. “We believe we will be seeing many Siyumei Masechtes in the following weeks,” They add.
Following the program, the Rebbe’s sicha was distributed, and the Ohr Menachem traditional Friday “Geulah UMoshiach Shiur” took place, led by Rabbi Yisroel Botnik, fifth-grade teacher, who leads the Shiur each week in school.
At last, following Talmidim’s efforts in Ohr Menachem Cheder’s annual 12 Perokim Tanya Ba’al Pe Program, 15 Talmidim were called up on stage by Melamed of Kita Zayin and Program Director Rabbi Chanoch Hecht to receive their prizes. Over 40 Sifrei Kodesh were given out to students for completing full perokim of Tanya Ba’al Peh.
Talmidim then departed happily, each receiving an official catalog of Sifrei Kodesh for the Mivtzah Mishnayos and a sweet treat.
