This past Wednesday, Cheder Ohr Menachem marked the culmination of success: a 12-month school year (!!) with a heartwarming graduation ceremony for its younger classes. The event, held at the Eshel Hall in Crown Heights, celebrated the achievements of students from kitos aleph, beis, and gimmel.
The hall filled with parents, grandparents, and siblings gathered to witness and ‘shep-nachas’ as the young talmidim showcase their impressive learning.
The Menahel Rabbi Mendel Yusewitz opened the event greeting the parents and children, he then called upon Rabbi Zalman Goldstein to read the Rebbe’s Letter to the graduates. After reading, Rabbi Goldstein provided a concise summary of the letter’s meaningful message for all in attendance. Following this, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hakohen Hendel was invited to bestow Birkas Kohanim upon the gathering.
Then each kita took to the stage:
Kita Aleph led the crowd in reciting the 12 Pesukim and Maamorei Razal selected by the Rebbe for every Chayol in Tzivos Hashem should know and review regularly.
Kita Beis inspired all leading the Rebbe’s Kapitel with a special heartfelt Niggun.
Kita Gimmel impressed the audience by reciting sections of seven perakim of Tanya by heart!! a truly remarkable achievement!
Following each presentation, the Menahel Rabbi Yusewitz called up the boys to receive their graduation certificates, marking their progress to the next grade level. The pride on their faces was evident as they accepted this recognition of their hard work throughout the year.
A special highlight of the event came when the vice principal Rabbi Yossi Overlander presented each graduate with a Cheder ‘Mincha Maariv’ siddur. This meaningful gift emphasizes the importance of tefillah in the boys’ daily lives and marks their growing maturity in their Yiddishkeit.
The hall was filled with the joyous sounds of “mazel tov” as families celebrated this important milestone together. The annual graduation at Cheder Ohr Menachem once again showcased the school’s dedication to nurturing knowledgeable and passionate young Chassidim.
As another successful school year comes to a close, the Cheder looks forward to continued growth and achievement in the coming year, building on the solid foundation laid by its devoted teachers and eager students in Cheder ‘Ohr Menachem’ in Yerushalayim with Moshiach Now with the Rebbe in our lead!
