Cheder at the Ohel in Valley Stream, NY, recently celebrated their 8th Grade Graduation and End of Year Awards Ceremony, marking the culmination of an enriching year. The event, led by Principal Rabbi S.Z. Berkowitz, was a reflection on the year’s accomplishments.
Highlights of the graduation included a special video presentation where graduates and their parents shared cherished memories from their time at the Cheder. Each graduate was individually recognized on stage, receiving diplomas and a sefer as a gift, along with the reading of the Rebbe’s letter and inspiring Dvar Torahs.
The ceremony continued with speeches from the 8th grade Rebbis, who summarized the year and offered words of encouragement for the graduates. The program also featured a Cheder Choir, showcasing the students’ musical talents accompanied by Hatomim Eli Edelkopf on the keyboard.
The occasion also acknowledged the dedication of the school’s staff and administration, including Rabbi Moshe Koncepolski, administrator, Mrs. Mushky Pinson, admin secretary, teachers; Morah Zwiebel, Rabbi Simpson, Rabbi Kastel, Rabbi Wilansky, Rabbi Yaffe, Rabbi Pinson, Rabbi Zwiebel, Rabbi Backman, Rabbi Rieber and Rabbi Meltzer, and program directors, Rabbi Javen and Rabbi Geisinsky.
Special recognition was given to the PTA committee for their invaluable contributions throughout the year in organizing enriching programs and activities.
Students received awards for their participation in various academic and extracurricular programs, including the newsletter committee, Cocoa Club, Sicha Circle, Mishnayos Baal Peh, Chidon and Shoina Halachos, and for achieving high ranks in Tzivos Hashem.
BH, with the Rebbe’s brochos, the event marked the conclusion of a successful school year.

Such a good year at the Cheder. Such a nice event. At the Cheder each Talmid is cared for in such an individual manner. This was also seen at the graduation event where each Talmud was called up and rewarded. The choir also sounded so well and professional. We are all so thankful.
