Chazzan Shlomie Rabin releases Volume Two of his “Second Soul” Shabbos Davening, a comprehensive album of Shabbos day covering Shachris, Mussaf and Havdala.
In the early days of lockdown in March 2020 when Shuls were closed, Rabin released his Friday Night version of davening which drew wide praise.
Rabin is a freelance Chazzan and singer who travels to Shuls, Simchas and private clients to share the joy of Davening with his audience. He also launched the only Jewish talent agency called Jplacing.com which signed Shlomo Simcha as one of its first high-profile clients.
Now those wanting to learn how to lead in Chabad Houses have a complete picture with this Shabbos day recording. The recording takes listeners through a journey of nusach and songs of the Tefillos.
Much of the nusach is influenced by his grandfather Rabbi Moshe Polter OBM and the release could not be more timely with the passing of his grandmother, Mrs. Kayla Polter OBM, who had a beautiful voice as well.
“I feel like both my grandfather and grandmother are enjoying this together in the world above, and I hope it lives up to their big shoes,” said Rabin, who just got back from Chabad of Port Washington, NY where he was Chazzan this past week.
While there is a cassette recording of Rabbi Polter’s davening from many years back, this is an updated version for both bochurim or community members who want to sharpen their skills. “It’s called “Second Soul” for the extra Neshama we are given each Shabbos, but our family enjoys listening to it before Shabbos as well,” said Yisroel Aryeh Gootblatt, who produced the album.
This project was made possible in part by community members at Chabad of Midtown Manhattan, where Rabin was the full-time cantor for a number of years. (To donate to this project, click here)
