A mass event is planned to take place just a week before Gimmel Tammuz, uniting Chassidim in front of 770 – Lubavitch World headquarters on Eastern Parkway.
The event is being organized by a Vaad led by Reb Sholom Charitonov, and will include a screening of a collection of videos of the Rebbe along with Nigunim.
“Standing now almost 20 years since Gimmel Tammuz, we are all waiting and yearning to see our Rebbe once again,” organizers told COLlive. “The event will do just that – bring us together, united, to see our Rebbe.”
The event, which will close off the Parkway between Brooklyn and Kingston avenues, is scheduled for Sunday evening, 24 Sivan, June 22nd, 8:30 – 9:30 PM.
The event is scheduled for this date to accommodate the children and Bochurim who are leaving to camps in the following days, and won’t be in Crown Heights on Gimmel Tammuz, as well as the hundreds of families who will be spending their summer in the Catskills, organizers said.
The same event planned for Gimmel Tammuz last year had a major turnout with well over 5,000 attendees, despite taking place during pouring rain. This year the organizers hope the weather will be dry, but have plans of renting tents for the crowd in case of rain.
All men, women, and children are asked to participate in this historic event.
