Chabad of Mineola’s recent Chanukah Telethon in New York delivered an evening of inspiration, unity, and purpose, highlighting the power of community action during a season dedicated to light and hope.
Hosted by Rabbi Anchelle Perl, together with Jay Oliver and Jonathan Kroll, the telethon focused on addressing urgent community needs, including support for caregivers, expanded mental health outreach, and educational efforts that promote understanding and civil dialogue among young people.
“This event showed what can happen when people rally around shared values,” said one longtime supporter. “It wasn’t only uplifting—it was meaningful in a very real way.”
Throughout the broadcast, viewers were introduced to the human impact of the initiatives being supported, emphasizing care for those carrying heavy responsibilities and resources for individuals and families navigating emotional challenges.
Another supporter observed, “What impressed me was the clarity of purpose. The telethon wasn’t abstract—it addressed real issues affecting real people in our community.”
Under the leadership of Rabbi Perl, the telethon reflected Chabad of Mineola’s broader mission of service and responsibility.
“Chanukah reminds us that light grows when it is shared,” Rabbi Perl said during the program. “When a community channels celebration into action, the impact lasts far beyond the moment.”
The evening featured a vibrant lineup of performers who infused the telethon with energy and joy. Soul Farm brought a powerful musical presence, while illusionist Ilan Smith captivated audiences with moments of wonder and imagination. The Tic Tac Breakdancing Group delivered high-energy performances, and the dancing rabbis embodied the festive spirit of Chanukah, uniting tradition with exuberant celebration.
“The entertainment elevated the entire evening,” one viewer commented. “It was exciting, uplifting, and deeply connected to the message.”
