With corona restrictions in the city of Kharkov, this year the shluchim decided to make Chanukah bigger and brighter despite the challenge!
Starting before Chanukah, large screens throughout the city showed a Chanukah clip reminding all the Jews of Kharkov to light in their homes, and showed the Rebbe encouraging that lighting Chanukah lights, lights up the whole world!
The advertisement gave such pride to the Jewish community who saw through all corners of the city, the Rebbe and the message of Chanukah! Hard to believe that a few decades ago chassidim were hiding from the eyes of the KGB and now the message of Chanukah is being broadcast throughout the city.
A new large menorah was shining the whole week on the main street of Sumskaya.
The car menorah parade this year was bigger and brighter than ever.
Hundreds of food packages with menorahs were given out and home visits ensured that the elderly felt the warmth and light of Chanukah!
The Israeli Ambassador Yoel Liron and the vice governor of Kharkov Yevgeniy Gritzkov visited the Shule and joined Rabbi Moishe Moskovitz in lighting the large menorah on Pushkinskaya Street.
