Harav Hagaon Chacham Nissim Ben-Shimon, Rosh Av Bet Din of Tel Aviv – Yafo, visited the Crown Heights neighborhood in honor of Chai Elul and as a preparation for Tishrei 5784.
Harav Ben-Shimon visted the Rebbes’ room and library at Chabad World Headquarters.
He also visited the Bais Din of Crown Heights.
After a visit to the Rebbe’s Ohel, he later addressed a gathering at Merkaz Sefarad Chabad Shul, delivering Divrei Bracha and Chizuk.
Chacham Ben-Shimon is one of 5 children of Chacham Mantzur Ben-Shimon who was the head of Yeshiva Porat Yosef in Yerushalayim.
His elder sister was married to the late Chacham Sholom Cohen, who replaced HaRav Ovadia Yosef as the spiritual head of Shas.
Chacham Ben-Shimon is the Rosh Av Bet Din from Tel Aviv – Yafo, and father of 17 children ka”h.
One of his sons Avrohom is a Chabad Askan in Atlit, Israel and his grandson Yossi is the Shliach is Isla Mucheress in Mexico.
His visits in Crown Heights are being coordinated by Rabbi Eliezer (Lazer) Avtzon, Rav of the Merkaz Sefarad Chabad Shul and Sefardi community in Crown Heights.
