Jewish rockstar from Tel Aviv, singer and guitarist Barak Grossberg, has returned to Israel after 10 concerts all over the States and Canada for 19 Kislev and Chanukah events in Chabad Houses and Jewish communities.
It was the 7th tour for Barak in the USA and the third time for the Chanukah tour. He played for almost 100 Chabad houses over the last three years with great success and numerous recommendations from Chabad Shluchim.
Barak is a known ba’al teshuva from Tel Aviv, his special moving life story received great exposure in the Israeli and Chabad media. He released a new album a few months ago, which combines original songs with refreshing versions of Chabad tunes in musical collaborations.
One of his famous collaborations is with Chabad famous singer and flute player, Avi Piamenta, who passed away 6 months ago. Barak began his journey of approaching Judaism because of Avi Piamenta’s concert at Chabad house in Tel Aviv. The story of the two is presented in a music video released about 4 years ago for the joint song called “OMG”.

Barak’s latest tour began on the 19th of Kislev at the Flamingo Chabad House in Toronto, led by Shliach Rabbi Mendel Kaplan, and continued through Chabad houses and communities in Texas. The first candle celebration took place in the south of the state in the city of McAllen, led by Rabbi Asher Hecht, the same day of the terrible terrorist attack that took place a few hours earlier in Sydney, Australia, in which Chabad followers lost their lives.
The tour continued through the JRCC organization’s central lighting ceremony in Toronto, again attended by hundreds of participants in boisterous dancing. The next day, Barak performed at a synagogue in Crown Heights, “Nosson’s Shul,” with the participation of community families, and that same night, Barak performed at the Chabad House for Israelis in New Jersey.
The next day, Barak took off for Phoenix, Arizona, for a major Chanukah event led by Shliach Rabbi Zalman Levertov. Barak finished the tour in north Orlando, Florida, after a concert for young professionals in Miami. This last night’s event featured a huge Menorah lighting with hundreds of participants led by Rabbi Yanki Majesky and attended by the mayor and many politicians.
