A Chabad chossid who serves as one of the Chabad Shluchim in Jerusalem was seriously wounded on Monday while on active duty for the Israel Defense Forces in southern Syria.
The IDF Spokesperson announced: “A reserve officer was seriously injured as a result of an explosion in the area of an IDF outpost in southern Syria. The officer was evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment and his family has been notified.”
The source of the explosion is currently under investigation. According to journalist Amit Segal, the IDF is examining whether the incident was caused by an old landmine, but stressed that “all options are being looked into.”
The public is asked to daven for the officer’s complete and speedy recovery, along with all those in Klal Yisroel who are in need of healing.
