The Gaza border is not exactly the place most people want to find themselves in December of 2023.
At the forefront of the battle between truth and evil stands our soldiers… and Chabad of Sderot.
Chabad of Sderot is there for the reservist who longs to spend the holiday with his wife and children, for the 1st grader who wakes up at night to sirens warning of rocket fire, and for the young teenager who lost all his friends to the October 7 attack.
The ground in Sderot shakes from each rocket’s interception. But it isn’t just their homes shaking. It’s their lives that are shaken up.
As we approach the holiday of Chanukah, celebrating the victory of light over darkness, it is surreal to watch the same story unfold in front of our eyes.
“Bayamim Ha’heim Biz’man Hazeh” – From those days, In these times.
Every soldier on the battlefield sacrificed a Chanukah celebrated with family to fight for his people. Some have young children waiting for them at home. Some have worried mothers praying for their son’s safety. As a united Jewish nation, we are all family. The soldiers are our sons, and the reserves are our brothers. The thousands of children that wake up to sirens every night are OUR children.
In delivering Sufganiyot and Menorahs to each doorstep, we invite you to join us in bringing the light of Chanukah to the children of Sderot, to their families, and to the brave soldiers who are fighting a recurring war of light over darkness – from those days, but in these times.
Bring Chanukah to the Jews at the bordering city of Gaza. Keep the flames of Sderot burning!
