Rabbi Yitzchok Yehuda Yaroslavky, Rov of the Chabad community in Nachlas Har Chabad in Kiryat Malachi, asked community members not to visit him in the coming days.
The 77-year-old Rabbi Yaroslavky, the senior Chabad rabbi in Israel and head of the Beis Din Rabbonei Chabad, is frequented by many on a daily basis on both local and national matters.
“In light of the general situation and instructions of the Health Ministry, we are asking to please not enter the Rov’s House,” a notice on his front door read.
“Questions can be placed in the designated mailbox and can be asked over the phone,” the sign said.
“If there’s an urgent need to personally speak with the Rov or the Rebbetzin and cannot be delayed, please keep your distance a meter and a half and of course, don’t shake hands.”
Rabbi Yaroslavsky’s vice chairman at the Beis Din, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Gluckowsky is currently in self-quarantine after a member of his community in Rechovot has contacted coronavirus.
In a filmed message, Rabbi Gluckowsky asked the public to adhere to instructions of the Health Ministry and said that “as Chassidim, we should strengthen spiritual matters as they give blessing to physical matters.”
