Over 400 people gathered in the grand ballroom of the Terrace Banquet Centre to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Chabad on the Avenue in Toronto.
Opened by Rabbi Menachem and Chana Gansburg in the fall of 2006, Chabad on the Avenue serves the approximate 10,000 Jewish residents of the Lawrence/Eglinton area in Midtown Toronto.
Coming out to honor Blayne and Adrienne Lastman who received the Community Builders Award, and for Justine Cordon who received the Woman of Valour Award, the guests were entertained in this magical and unique setting by a Silent and Live Auction, and New York’s mentalist and mind reader Marc Salem.
Among the many prominent Toronto business-people and residents were former Mayor of Toronto Mel Lastman, former Chairman of Metro Toronto, President of the Toronto Sun and head of the Toronto Blue Jays Paul Godfrey who chaired the dinner, anchor for CTV News at 6:00 Ken Shaw who was the MC, and Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair.
