All that you say about youth at risk etc. is true except for one important point: the kids who stopped identifying with whatever their origins are and are now inspired by uman are uman people. that’s quite fine, but don’t glibly assume that one can simultaneously dance at two chassunahs, it’s not do-able. as the saying goes, if you like it, swallow it; if you don’t like it, spit it out. to those that say these kids may yet come back, that’s certainly true but that’s not where they are right now, so don’t confuse your labels. p.s. for all… Read more »

I would have written sooner, but I’ve been traveling, since after Rosh Hashona, throughout western Ukraine, shechting Kaporos for Anash and Chabad Moisdos in Chernivtsi (Chernovitz), Khmemilnitski, Vinnitsa, and Zhitomyr (Yom Kippur to be in Haditch by Der Alter Rebbe). WHY would/should a Lubavitcher go to Uman for Rosh Hashona? Because by participating in OUR Minyon, davening OUR Nusach, singing OUR nigunim, chazering Chassidus/Ma’amorim from OUR Rebbeim, in OUR Bais Chabad, one is MISHTATEF in building a DIRA B’TACHTOINIM for UNZER Rebbe and Rebbeim of Chabad…… Read more »

A true Chosid of the Rebbe has no place in Uman and if someone fell through and went there they should definitetly not stand there and let your picture be taken for all to see. Uman might be a great place to spend Yom Tov but NOT for a chabad Chosid, if your looking for a good time don’t use the umbrella of Chabad.
sorry for typos before… Chabad Uman R”H Minyan has been run by Dr Binyomin Nemon for many years and B”H gets bigger each year. This year there were approximately 250 ppl participating in the minyan of which about 20 were Lubavitchers. The minyan is for any yid who would like to join in. RABBI DR NEMON offers shiurim in chassidus before/after davening. He has been officially been appointed this annual shlichus position by Rabbi Axelrod, the Chabad Shliach to Cherkassy area. I hate to be the one to address this discussion. However, it would seem to me that most of the responses to this is borderlining ignorance. As some of you may know. When Jews gather-regardless of the locations and beliefs- it is the most enjoyable gift to god. In addition, I hate to stress this, however, it seems to me that a good portion of the remarks are related to individuals living in a “box” ( it’s the Lubavitcher rebbe or nothing). The reason there is a Chabad House is that there are Jews there and Chabad needs to serve them. That is our mission, to spread Chassidus, and to uplift whatever they need bruchyus or gashmiyus. Not all Nusach Ari is Chabad. Stop judging other people. It looks beautiful

Definrtly Uman in Rosh Hashana is not a place for a chabadnik
The reason Rebbe Nachman wanted to be buried in Uman – why not Breslov? – is because there was a massive pogrom, which left tens of thousands of Yidden murdered. So, R. Nachman it would be good for those Neshamos, if a tzadik would be buried among them.
So, maybe the more people who come to daven, the better it would be for the niftarim.
You missed the point. if one wants to try out Breslov that’s fine. Yes Gauls is very strong and challenging now. All were saying is why is there an official chabad minyan in Uman? Are there so many people that can’t decide where they are going? That on hand they want to go to Uman, and at the same time they still want to have a chabad minyan ? It depends on why they are going there. If they are there to spread the mayanos chutzah then they belong there. a chossid needs to be by his Rebbe for R”H, either by 770/ohel or on shlichus.
Pick one tzadik, and stick with it. Chabad, chabad. Nachnach, nachnach. Satmar, satmar.
I can just imagine how confusing it is to the neshama to each time try to connect to a different rebbe. Its not a stable way to go.
Chabad belongs everywhere. Stop with the nonsense of Chabad doesn’t belong in Uman. We all know that the REBBE is the only real tsaddik in this generation.

true, a person strong in their beliefs might not go to Uman,but under the darkness we live under some need a shot in the harm and sometimes that shot comes from a change and eventually they comeback. if you were true Torah dik Yidden you would know by heart the dictum- “Don’t judge another until you stand in their place” and you would be more understanding and compassionate
A Chabad Chosid does not belong on Rosh Hashonah of all times at the kever of Reb Nachman. A Chabad chosid if traveling to a tzadiks kever or residence, travels to 770 or the Ohel. “Yesh Echud Vein Sheini”

However, can someone please explain why would a Lubavitcher Chossid go there for Rosh Hashonah? Was there any such directive or suggestion from our Rebbe that this is something his Chassidim should be doing?
There is nothing wrong with going to a Kever of a tzaddik
But why would someone who wants a chabad minyan WANT to go to Uman.
If he wants lubavitch let him go to 770 or the ohel for Rosh Hashana or a Chabad house
And if he wants Breslov why would he want to daven by the chabad minyan in Uman ?
Basically these people are confused

If you are going to do an article on The Chabad Minyan in Uman do it right showing one member of anash & a picture of a Bais chabad sign isn’t enough You need to mention & give credit to the main person that started this & has been doing it for over 10 years at least that I know of That is Dr. BInyomin Neeman who not only provides his life saving medical skills but is the master mind behind the Chabad Minyan That has B”H grown Every year
