Chabad Girls Academy
What do you think when you hear the phrase Bishvili Nivra Haolam—The world was created for me? What does that mean for you?
We were taught that it means that each individual has an intrinsic value, a purpose and mission in this world. Whether child or adult, everyone should be able to say to themselves: “I was created because there is something special about me, something that makes me unique. With this uniqueness and special ability, I can make a huge positive impact in this world, so much so that I can Ker a Velt Heint! I can change the world. I have that power and ability.”
Everyone needs to have this mindset, and Chabad Girls Academy High is here to make this a reality for the girls of Crown Heights.
Im Yirtzah Hashem, the very first year of Chabad Girls Academy High School will commence this September. Building on the success we’ve seen at the Chabad Girls Academy elementary school, our high school will operate on the same proven model of boosting confidence and skills by catering to each student at their own level.
Established 6 years ago in Crown Heights, Chabad Girls Academy is a small elementary school that places its focus on each and every girl that walks through its doors. With small class sizes, a high teacher-student ratio and the personal attention of a caring teacher, we have seen the girls build confidence and thrive in an environment geared to their needs. CGA has shown that individual-based learning can, and does, bring out the best in every student.
But what happens next?
This year five girls will be graduating eighth grade at CGA elementary school, where they have each exceeded all expectations. Yet there is no girls’ high school in Crown Heights that is suitable for them, a place where they can continue learning and growing. These girls—and we’ve heard from parents of other Crown Heights’ girls as well—don’t fit into the mold of a larger high school and don’t have any options.
It’s for this reason that we decided that we must fill this vacuum and establish CGA High School.
The mission of our school is clear: Yogati Umatzasa Taamin—success will follow labor. Through encouragement, love and some hard work, we can help our girls to reach their fullest potential, and with Hashem’s brachos the girls will succeed in an environment that is personalized to them.
In CGA elementary school we found that a student-based learning style can work wonders, and we plan on implementing this at the high school. The classroom size will remain small to facilitate differentiated learning and assist and challenge each girl to push herself and achieve success.
If you know of a girl who is entering ninth grade who will fit this mold please call Mrs. Rochel Hildeshaim. We only have a few slots left and are committed to keeping each class small. Mrs. Hildeshaim can be reached at 347-359-1317.
We are committed to giving the care and attention to each girl so she can shine, and we are hoping that you will partner with us in any way that you can. Boruch Hashem a donor has offered us a suitable space we can use rent-free. We are looking for donations on a monthly basis to help cover the costs of the expenses to run this school.
CGA High will strive to instill each student not only with the skills and knowledge that she needs to succeed, but with a love and warmth for Yiddishkeit and Chassidishkeit. CGA High will be a school infused by the Rebbe’s teachings, none more fundamental than the fact that each and every individual is unique and has something special to contribute to this world, beginning with our students.
Please help us make this vision a reality by partnering with us and bringing a Torah education to ALL of our girls!
