Chabad of Camarillo celebrated its 10-year anniversary of servicing the local Jewish community in this part of Ventura County, California, with a gala dinner and concert.
It was held last month at the Herzog Wine Cellars, located nearby within the strawberry fields and farm rows of Oxnard. The winery houses the Award winning restaurant Tierra Sur serving the finest Mediterranean inspired contemporary Californian Cuisine.
Welcoming the guests were Chabad Camarillo Executive Director Rabbi Aryeh Lang, his wife Mrs. Leah Lang, Gan Camarillo Preschool Director; Rabbi Yosef Muchnik, Smile on Seniors Director and his wife, Mrs. Shira Muchnik, Hebrew School Director.
Camarillo’s Mayor Emeritus Stan Daily was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Chabad also recognized Jay and Joni Berger with the Pioneer Award; the Herzog family with the Partnership Award; Lewis and Terri Kanter with the Leadership Award and Ben Racowsky with the Legacy Award.
Entertaining the evening were Rabbi Shmuley and Bentzi Marcus of the 8th Day Band who sang some of their new songs from the hit album “Hooleh!”
