CGI Ottawa in Full Swing

Camp Gan Israel in Ottawa, Canada shines again this summer with a group of counselors from around the world, including Argentina, Brazil, New York, Baltimore, Minnesota, Israel, and of course – Ottawa!

Head Counselors Esther Caytak and Rivkie Muller have put together a summer of fun that is unparralled anywhere.

Before camp started, the staff received a crash-course training session on bullying, behavior management and positive interpersonal skills between camper and counselor and counselor and parent.

The course was given by Shlucha Mrs. Sara Loewenthal, who provided a creative forum for the workshop. Pairing the counselors together, each was given a particular scenario to act out. Loewenthal then provided different solutions for each ‘situation’.

The staff were thus ably prepared for their jobs as counselors in Camp Gan Israel of Canada’s capital city, where a typical day includes line-up, Davening, professional swimming lessons, and a choice of pottery, martial arts, Israeli dancing, sports and so much more.
