Chabad of the Big Island in Kailua Kona, Hawaii, celebrated Lag BaOmer in style on Sunday with a BBQ and bonfire at the oceanfront estate of an esteemed community member.
Over 40 Jews from towns all over Hawaii’s largest island gathered to learn about Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai and the lessons of his Hilula.
Participants enjoyed a festive meal and Jewish music played on guitar and ukulele while taking in the Hawaiian sunset from a spectacular waterfront home.
The event was run by the Rebbe’s Shluchim to the Big Island, Rabbi Avrohom and Rivka Chazanow.
