Over 300 people gathered at the Vancouver Art Gallery on the 1st night of Chanukah, Sunday, December 6, for the lighting of the tallest Menorah in Canada, the Silber Family Agam Menorah.
The children enjoyed crafts and entertainment inside the art gallery and then everyone went outside, albeit in the pouring rain, for delicious doughnuts and hot cocoa.
Participants then heard greetings from the dignitaries and politicians who were present, and enjoyed live Chanukah music by Dr. Anders Nerman ND.
The Menorah was then lit by members of the Silber Family.
The annual event is coordinated by Chabad Lubavitch BC, which is directed by Rabbi Yitzchak and Henia Wineberg and sponsored by the Silber family in memory of Fred Silber obm.
