It’s September. For hundreds of people in our community, it means more than just sending their kids back to school. It’s a time of high expenses, including school supplies, tuition, new shoes and uniforms and the upcoming costs of Tishrei.
Can you help light the load for people in our community this Tishrei?
Righteous Fundraising will be working with local Crown Heights stores to bring people relief this month. They will give local grocery store owners money to pay off some of people’s overdue grocery bills.
The Grocery Relief Fund will be administered anonymously, leaving recipients with their dignity intact. No embarrassing asks need to be made, and all payments will be made discreetly.
RIghteous Fundraising explained the impetus for this campaign. “There are so many people struggling financially in Crown Heights. I’ve spoken to store owners, and they shared that the number of people who cannot pay off their bills has skyrocketed this year. And so I thought to myself, how can I help? How can we, as a community, make a difference? And I realized that every dollar counts. If someone goes to the store and discovers their bill has been reduced by $180, by $300, by $500. Whatever the amount, it provides a little breathing room during a month that is already financially stressful.”
The community is invited to participate in this vital fundraiser at http://righteousfundraising.com/grocery-relief-fund
Things are really expensive in the grocery
Nothing in life is free….
Prices went up people’s wages did not
Straight forward! Very helpful!
Great opportunity to help those in need in our community in a dignified way.
Since the margins on food has gone up wildly “inflation”, How about this. Offer stores to match 50% for each $1 paid/donated to reduce a (neeedy) family’s bill. This way the donated $ is maximized and NOT also funding the store owners inflated margins.
If yes, I would (and many others as well) to help such a worthy cause
Such a great initiative!! Thank you!
I know of a person in CH that needs such help with food bills. How would the grocery store (Empire Kosher) provide her with a food credit from these funds? She is too proud and respectful to ask (one time in desperation she asked for leftover spoiling vegetables – but got depressed after for begging). Please let me know!

I’m sure this can benefit many people. Thank you Righteous Fundraising.
I feel like food has become a luxury, basic veg and fruit and basic products are unaffordable
What an incredible way to do fantastic deeds – this is the solution.
Way to go!!
