With summer a few weeks away, CGI Central – a division of The Shluchim Office is readying for its maiden Camp Training Conference. Taking place in Crown Heights on Thursday, Tammuz 1 (June 21), the conference will cover five core topics through informative and engaging workshops, all facilitated by qualified presenters.
COLlive recently learned that the American Camp Association (ACA) has reviewed CGI Central’s Camp Training Program and granted their Educational Endorsement for the one-day conference.
A qualified panel at ACA reviewed the program to verify the goals, learner outcomes, presenter qualifications, and evaluation requirements that are relevant for this educational program. The qualification also means that participants in the course are eligible for up to seven Continued Education Credits (CECs).
Rabbi Shlomie Rabin, CGI Central Director, noted that the ACA endorsement is “another affirmation that CGI Central is meeting a high standard and offering a quality learning experience – all in a Jewish and Chassidishe context.”
He added that the Camp Training Conference is aiming for professionalism while promising not to be dull. “We intend to address the important and sensitive topics relevant to modern society, and ensure that staff will enjoy the experience.”
