Following the announcement by Camp Gan Yisroel in Montreal for boys that it won’t be opening this summer season, Rabbi Avrohom Gurary and Dinie Gurary of Camp Pardes Chanah for girls in Montreal are announcing they won’t be opening.
Here is their full letter from Friday:
To our dear Parents, Amazing Staff and our Precious Campers,
With a heaviness that we cannot fathom, we need to inform you that Camp Pardas Chanah will not be able to operate this summer. Yesterday, we were informed that the Government of Quebec is not allowing overnight camps to run this season.
We can assure you that we turned over worlds to make Summer – 5780 happen. The last few months have been spent planning how we could operate without compromising the health and safety of our campers.
For months, our dedicated team of Head Staff, prepared a summer program beyond compare. What was their passion and drive? The knowledge that they would be able to give our campers a place to create everlasting friendships and memories in an atmosphere of joy and fun. That together, we would infuse our campers with a super dose of Yiddishkeit and Chassidishkeit in the camp they call their summer home.
As you can imagine we are all devastated. The loss is felt by all of us, especially our dear and precious campers who look forward to the summer all year. This is our message to you.
To our dear campers,
This summer, the camp theme was all about being Besimcha, infusing every part of our lives, in all situations, with Simcha – “Der Rebbe hut Geheissen Freilach Zayn.”
Our message to you is. Take this theme and make it a reality. These days are not easy. There are many disappointments, sadness and pain. However, every Pardas Chanah camper knows;
We will overcome it!
We will be victorious!
We will bring Moshiach!
We will break barriers – Simcha Poretz Geder. Hold on tight! Keep the strength the positivity and the Simcha. We love you all so much!
Kabolas Hatorah B’Simcha U’bepnimius!
With deep regret,
We remain
The Pardas Chanah family
Rabbi Avrohom & Dinie Gurary
We love pardas chanah.
We are so so sad and will miss pardas chanah so so much!!
My daughter loves this camp what is wrong with these sicko goverments not allowing them to open. what will she do this summer?????? help!!!!!!
🙁
But there’s more. More than it’s fun, more than it’s Chayus, more than it’s extremely well ran camp. This camp changed my life forever.
How can they possibly manage to blend fun in its utmost way all in the most loving way for chassidishkeit and instilling the rebbe into our lives. It’s davka during these moments that is when we strengthen our bitachon in Hashem who’s the ONLY balabust in the universe!
This is legit the worst thing ever
you just can’t skip a year of camp!
