Purim might be the highlight of the year for some people, but for others it’s Miami Music Week… and this year they overlapped.
So on a mivtzoim mission, organized by Shaina Holtzberg, to bring the spirit of Purim to a non Jewish music festival at Factory Town in Miami, Mendy Stiefel went with a chavrusa to the location of a large music event on Purim night, with a black hat on and Megillah in hand.
Over ten thousand people were there, the music was loud and it was chaos, but throughout the night Mendy managed to read the Megillah five times for about thirty fellow Jews.
Mendy says he felt the Rebbe guiding him to bring the Purim joy into this experience for everyone there.
The people who joined to hear Megillah were so proud and grateful for this experience and at the end chanted ‘Am Yisroel Chai’ because they couldn’t help but feel the love and unity with their Jewish brothers even at a festival during Miami Music Week.
This year there were 2 Bochurim on this mission, but next year there could be more and more for the hundreds of Jews who attended.
