Boys Enjoy Sheffield Shabbaton

Manchester’s Mishmor youth group held their annual Shabbaton overnight at the home of Rabbi and Mrs. Yoinosson Golomb, Shluchim to Sheffield, UK.

23 boys between the ages of 8 and 13 travelled by train to spend an exciting and fulfilling weekend as reward for their yearlong attendance at Mishmor.

Organized by Oshi Goodman and Doniel (Danny) Namda this group brings together children of Anash every week in Manchester to learn with bochurim in Yeshavas Lubavitch Manchester.

A highlight of the trip was a walk in the mountains of the Peak District in Derbyshire just south of Sheffield with stunning countryside and beautiful views. With excellent food, good singing and even better stories a fabulous time was had by all.

“I must say I was a little worried,” commented Rabbi Golomb, “as to what the reaction of the attendees of our shul in Sheffield would be when a group of boisterous youngsters descend on them. I am happy to report that they made an excellent impression and many have commented to me how well behaved the boys were.”

“They made a great Kiddush Hashem and this was due in no small part to the good leadership of the bochurim who accompanied them.”
