After a smashing success on the East Coast, Machane Heights’ co-founder, Rabbi Dovid Blasberg, will be opening a branch of the famous biking camp in Los Angeles, under the name Gan Yisroel Cyclers.
Gan Yisroel Cyclers is a camp using Cheder Menachem LA’s facilities, run by experienced Camp Director Rabbi Blasberg.
Rabbi Blasberg founded his cycling camp, in Crown Heights, 4 years ago. His camp, Machane Heights, served close to 100 campers just last summer! He is now bringing his experience to LA. You can view his camp site at machaneheights.com to get a better picture of what Camp Gan Yisroel Cyclers will entail.
Camp Gan Yisroel Cyclers is geared to 5th-6th Graders. The Camp will meet in Cheder Menachem, Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 3:45 pm, and promises Chassidishe counselors and devoted staff, emphasizing proper and safe bicycling etiquette.
Safety must be taught and our campers will spend a meaningful summer learning the proper care and use of bicycles as we use our bikes to move about to our several activities.
A typical day in the Camp begins with davening and then continues with Learning Classes. A Tzivos Hashem program is incorporated into the day, rewarding campers with special prizes; including drones, spedometers, and more! Several days a week the Camp does Woodworking and then breaks for Lunch. Camp goes on 1-2 trips each week. 3-4 days a week, campers bike to parks for sports leagues; which includes playoffs, championships, trophies and medals. Throughout the Summer there will be a couple of grand biking trips, bike races, and more!

Machane Heights is a wonderful camp. I had the privilege to observe it last summer….the boys all looked so happy and it was wonderful to have a chassidshe camp with such great creative activities. I was at the banquet and each boy was rewarded for their unique talents. The Blasbergs bring out the best in everyone.
Wow!!! The Blasbergs made a great team in making a great camp which loved by so many!! The funding by the JCC makes it affordable for parents, yet their devotion to the camp is priceless!
I don’t think this camp has any connection to the JCC (although i’m sure it would be nice if it would). Finally a great camp opening for this age boys in LA. much needed. thank you!
Rabbi Weiner is an incredible man. He heads the JCCGCI and helps out so many of our organizations. Thank you Rabbi Weiner for all you do. He also added so much to Machane Heights personally by joining the camp davening and being a tremendous support to camp! Thank you for believing in Machane Heights.

This is very exciting. I’ve been waiting for a great camp like this for my children. I’m signing up my son right now. Looking forward to an incredible summer with the renowned rabbi blasberg
To avoid reader confusion, the camp was founded by the Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island and funded by the Department of Youth & Community Development. Rabbi Blasberg was an employee of the camp, not its founder. JCCGCI did not authorize a branch of the camp to be created in LA.

Great news excellent keep up the good work and keep up the spirits
That’s great news. After sending children to Machane Heights Day Camp for two years, I know you’ll have tremendous success also in LA!
Rabbi blassberg and his sons are REAL shluchim helping OUR kids have an amazing fun and chasidish summer and the BEST part its affordable for those of us that stay in the city due to not being able to afford a high rent plus the expense of a bungalow. KOL HAKOVOD
I love Machane Heights. So nice that it’s expanding!
Looking forward to even greater success.
