Instead of shipping cheesecake this year, many Chabad Shluchim have decided to have a special Shavuos gift delivered to their community members.
Over the last 3 days, some 500 copies of the book Parsha Poems were ordered at a steep discount as a meaningful and relatable activity for the holiday of receiving the Torah while in isolation.
The book, offering a poem for each week’s Parsha based on the teachings of the Rebbe, was written by Chana Nesenoff (nee Engel) originally from Melbourne, Australia and now of Miami Beach, Florida. She has been writing and perfecting these poems over the past 6 years.
The poems are short, easy to read and geared for adults and families to enjoy, whether to read alone to during a meal.
“The deep and reflective poems are so down-to-earth, easy to read, and relatable. Each poem is a gem!” commented Rabbi Dovid Flinkenstein, Director of Chabad of Wilmette, Illinois.
Rabbi Levi Schechtman, Director of Chabad at Wesleyan University in Connecticut, said: “They are really beautiful and convey a message very clearly and simply…it holds your attention to the very end and keeps it grounded… A perfect balance!”
Some Shluchim had the book shipped directly to their community, while others ordered books in bulk to deliver themselves.
The books are heavily discounted to over 60% off until May 19, 2020. For more info text, 631-681-8066 or email: [email protected]
