Mendel Zaltzman, a bochur from New York who was in Yeshiva in Westchester, NY, this past year, put his emotion into composing a niggun about his longing to see the Rebbe.
One day, the 17-year-old bochur was sitting in yeshiva, and while learning a sicha of the Rebbe, he felt a longing to see the Rebbe, he told COLlive.
So, he put his thoughts into words which eventually developed into this heartfelt niggun.
The song features the emotional words of a young Chossid who has not merited to see the Rebbe in his lifetime, or receive a dollar or say L’Chaim, and yet he still feels a deep connection to the Rebbe and longs to have him reunited with us.
