“Shluchei Adoneinu – to bring Moshiach Tzidkeinu!”
The first group of Talmidim HaShluchim who took off from Beis Chayeinu–770 arrived at the new Tomchei Temimim Austro-Hungary Yeshiva and were welcomed with great excitement by the students and staff.
This year’s group of Talmidim HaShluchim includes the temimim: Moshe Alperovitch, Binyomin Goldstein, Yisroel Gershowitz, Dovid Lipsh, Shmulik Eckstein, Zevi Katan, Sholem Rivkin, and Yisrolik Mendelzohn.
The yeshiva, located amid the green fields of the city of Mosonmagyaróvár in northern Hungary – very close to the Austrian border and just a 35-minute drive from Vienna International Airport – opened this past Elul. It was established to provide a strong and supportive environment for the sons of Shluchim across Europe, as well as for boys from Anash families and families of Mekuravim.
“We brought with us buckets of Chassidishe warmth – to illuminate, inspire, and uplift every single student,” said the Shluchim.
Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Chaim Fieldsteel shared:
“The foremost responsibility of each of us educators – toward our students, the temimim, and their parents – is to ensure and safeguard their wellbeing, both physically and spiritually. This responsibility is the beginning and the end of everything – our first and last obligation. Upon that foundation rests our educational mission: to raise them to be true Chassidim, G-d-fearing Jews, and diligent Torah scholars.
“To fulfil this mission, and with the blessings of our Rebbeim, we toiled to recruit a full team of Maggidei shiurim, Mashpi’im, and Mashgichim – leading figures in their fields – so that every student can find the teacher or mentor with whom he feels a personal connection. Similarly, we did not hold back in the number of Talmidim HaShluchim, so that their influence on the temimim, G-d willing, will not only be in a general way – through programs which uplift the atmosphere of the yeshiva – but also in a personal way: through learning chavrusa and private conversations that offer extra attention and care for the wellbeing of every individual student.
“In Adar I, 5727 (1967), the Rebbe sent the first group of Talmidim HaShluchim to the yeshiva in Australia, granting them many blessings and Giluim. On the Shabbos before their departure, they merited a special Farbrengen; the night before their trip, they had Yechidus, during which they received a copy of a Tzemach Tzedek’s Maamar and three bottles of wine; and on the day of their departure, after Mincha, they had another Yechidus, receiving a Tanya.
During the Farbrengen and Yechidus, the Rebbe emphasized no fewer than four times that the main mission of the Talmidim HaShluchim is “first and foremost – to study diligently and persistently, both in Nigleh and in Chassidus,” with abundance in both quantity and quality.
From this, and from all the Rebbe’s guidance, it is clear that their primary mission is Torah study. When a Talmid Shliach learns Torah with vitality, passion, and joy, he uplifts the entire yeshiva from within. Torah is nourishment for the Neshomo – it refines the inner self, gives clarity in our confused generation, and enriches one’s life with the warmth and light of closeness to Hashem and Moshe avdo.
Rabbi Shmuel Glitzenstein, Menahel Gashmi of the yeshiva and the Rebbe’s Shliach to Budapest, explained that the yeshiva’s goal is to provide the best possible environment for the sons of Shluchim who must relocate for their education.
“We recognize the great responsibility placed upon our shoulders,” he said. “We are doing everything we can to provide them with a warm, familial atmosphere – embracing, understanding, and caring. Alongside building them into true Temimim, we fully ensure their physical and emotional wellbeing.”

We are super proud and lucky to have our son in this unbelievable Yeshiva. Kudos to the founders, the Rosh Yeshiva, and the dedicated, intelligent, and caring staff.
