A bochur was assaulted in an unprovoked attack near 770 Eastern Parkway during the first day of Sukkos in Crown Heights.
The 15-year-old bochur, who is visibly Chasidic and was dressed in full Jewish attire, is visiting New York for the Tishrei month. He was davening Maariv in the tent near 770 at approximately 7 PM on Monday evening when a young Hispanic woman entered the tent and slapped him across the face.
The woman was also shouting and screaming obscenities at the bochur, bystanders said, although she did not say anything specifically antisemitic.
The woman then fled the tent and was apprehended by 2 police officers who were stationed outside 770. She was arrested and charged with aggravated harassment as a hate crime.
Hate Crimes will be taking over the case, the local police said.
Why not assault? Trespassing?
vote for Zeldin to protect our bochrim
Cops were right there. Have some appreciation.
Most cops probably can’t stand the new age self destructive laws that many of their so called leaders on city , state and country levels have made.
Be thankful for once, this could’ve ended really badly or the lady could’ve just ran away, instead the police got her!
Thank you for protecting us and having police on our corners!
How is this a result of bad government?
All I want to know and all anyone should care about is, is the criminal in jail? Because that is the only thing that will keep the LAW ABIDING public free to go about their lives without being unlawfully bothered by scum. If nyc insists on placing drug shelters and ex convicts directly in our neighborhood then at the very least we expect them to do a few things they have been refusing to do lately, namely: a) arrest and b) retain them behind bars, when they do commit crimes.
