An international Mitzvah contest has come to a close this week with some 3,620 Lubavitch children enthusiastically participating from their hometowns.
In an email to COLlive, “Tzivos Hashem in Action” has annouced the two lucky winners: Hindy Begun from S. Paulo, Brazil, and Rivkah Rimler from Brooklyn, NY.
The young Begun will receive the entire set of the Rebbe’s Likutei Sichos, while Rimler will be awarded with an iPod loaded with JEM videos and the Rebbe’s Sichos. (Contact [email protected] for the prize).
A private initiative of a member of the Crown Heights Kollel who asked not to be identified, the raffle was drawn Sunday, April 26 – Iyar 2, in his home in the presence of “the Birchas Hachama committee” (i.e. his wife).
“It was great to see the excitement of all the children,” he told COLlive in a phone conversation. Through the website birchashachama.biz, children were asked to perform good deeds over the Pesach holiday and send a report.
“We see how much importance the Rebbe put on children and future generations. At the Birchas Hachama in 5741, the Rebbe said he hopes that children draft their friends to do Mitzvos,” he said.
He thanked COLlive for the promotion and added that the contest was privately funded and donations would be a great help (click to donate).
