A large Chassidic Farbrengen took place in the main 770 Shul drawing many Crown Heights residents in the late afternoon of Shabbos day, Rosh Chodesh Iyar.
Organized by the “Igud Avrechim” group, Anash and bochurim got together in unity marking 18 years since the Rebbe said the famous “Do all that you can” Sicha, urging Chassidim to increase efforts to bring the redemption.
Rabbi Yossi Jacobson, known orator and spiritual leader of the local Congregation Bais Shmuel, began the Farbrengen by relating a very interesting story of R’ Pinchus Taitz when the Rebbe asked him to bring copies of the Tanya to Jews in Soviet Russia.
“It was only there that he understood the deep relationship that Chassidim have with the Rebbe,” Jacobson said. He continued by stressing the point that “we should stop complaining and start doing.”
Rabbi Levi Kaplan, a JLI teacher in Crown Heights, pointed out the idea of ‘Lchatchila Ariber’ of the Rebbe Maharash, and giving examples of how every one can do something in that way.
The third speaker Rabbi Shmuel C. Bluming shared an insight on Moshiach, like the Rebbe said on this very shabbos, that the way to bring Moshiach is through learning about Moshiach.
An unscheduled speaker was Rabbi Nachman Holtzberg, father of the slain Chabad Shliach in Mumbai. He ended the Farbrengen noting the importance of crying “Ad Mosai” and to mean it and “that will bring the Geula.”
This was a beautiful event – much nicer then the one we had in the past in Oholei Torah – It should always be done in 770 in the way of Achdus, hopefully we will see many more of these events!
maybe cuz he dosent go online anyways
We need more of this.
More of the same.
Same people.
Same speeches.
Same conclusions.
Only the result will be different.
You better believe.
Otherwise you are not the same as the majority.
