Undaunted—the first comprehensive biography of the Friedeke Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Schneersohn—is set for release after the Yom Tovim and had its exclusive pre-publication premiere at the National Jewish Retreat in Washington, D.C.
Shluchim who previewed advance copies, praised the work enthusiastically. Rabbi Shmuel Kaplan described it as “terrific,” adding “the book is bringing to light the incredible saga of a giant in Israel” Rabbi Yitzchak Schochet called it “riveting,” Rabbi Moshe Krasnianski noted, “It’s incredibly well-written, and full of details I never knew,” Rabbi Yisrael Bernath said it was “extraordinary.”
The book’s author, Rabbi Dovid Eliezrie, presented a series of sessions at the Retreat exploring key aspects of the Rebbe’s life. “We examined the secret covenant of the Chassidim that preserved Russian Jewry, as well as the many challenges the Rebbe faced across Russia, Europe, and the United States,” Rabbi Eliezrie explained. One session focused specifically on the Rebbe’s letters, which, he emphasized, “offer remarkable insight into his life and leadership.” He added, “I am deeply grateful for Rabbi Ephraim Mintz of JLI to feature the book premier at the Retreat.”
Undaunted is now available for preorder on Amazon. Following its official release, Rabbi Eliezrie will embark on a global book tour beginning after the Kinus Hashluchim until Yud Beis Tammuz, with events already planned in Florida, Chicago, Detroit, Pennsylvania, California, Canada, the UK, South Africa, Israel and Australia.
“Our goal is to share the Friedeke Rebbe’s extraordinary and inspiring story with Jews around the world,” Rabbi Eliezrie said.
