As the war in the South enters its second week, Chabad of Ashkelon has increased its efforts to bring as much comfort as possible to the residents of Ashkelon residing in fortified bunkers.
Following the example of the Rebbe’s Shliach to Ashkelon, Rabbi Mendel Lieberman, scores of Lubavitchers have been visiting bunkers throughout Ashkelon delivering games and toys to children.
Boxes of food were donated by concerned members of Beis Shmuel in Crown Heights, and were prepared and delivered to the bunkers on erev Shabbos so that families would have all that they needed without having to leave the safety of the bunker.
