A new kosher food store has opened at Dini’s Kosher, the Chabad-run restaurant in Beijing, whose claim to fame was serving Jewish attendees at the 2008 Summer Olympics in China.
In an email to members of the local Jewish community, Chabad Shliach Rabbi Shimon Freundlich notified that Kosher wines, all cuts of meat (Rib eye steak on the bone, roasts, etc.), chicken (including liver, legs and schnitzel) and many other food items are on sale.
Dini’s Kosher opened in March of 2007, called ‘Dini’s’ in tribute to Chabad’s Rebbetzin Dini Freundlich “for being the only place till now that kosher meals were available in Beijing.”
This new development puts an end to local Jews buying their Kosher meat and chicken at the Chabad House office. Dini’s and “Beijing Kosher Corner” is under Freundlich’s supervision.
The store was opened by Chabad in loving memory of Rabbi Gavriel and Rivka Holtzberg H”YD, Chabad’s slain Shluchim to Mumbai, whose care and concern to provide kosher food for all the Jews and visitors to Mumbai will forever remain an inspiration.
