It was a long day.
The kind that started with cereal all over the floor, three different carpools, and a client meeting squeezed in between folding laundry and answering texts. By the time Leah made it to Mikvah that night, she was running on empty – physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
“I almost canceled,” she admitted. “I thought, I’ll just go tomorrow. I didn’t feel like I could take one more thing.”
But the moment she stepped through the doors, something shifted.
The quiet.
The warmth.
The soft robe and scented soaps.
It was like she had entered a different world, one where she wasn’t the only one giving.
“It was the first time that day that someone was taking care of me,” she said. And that feeling, she realized, was part of the mitzvah too.
Leah had always seen mikvah as an obligation. A checklist. Something she was proud to do, but rarely had time to reflect on. But that night, it became something more: a pause, a deep breath, a return to herself. A reminder that even in the whirlwind of life, there is beauty.
On Tisha B’Av, we sit with our brokenness. We feel the weight of our people’s history, mourn the tragedies and destruction, and long for a home that no longer stands. We cry for what was taken from us, and for the pain of our reality today.
And still, we build.
We build families, We build community. We build moments of comfort and dignity – like the one Leah experienced on an otherwise chaotic night.
Because this is what it means to be a Jewish woman: to carry both the ruins and the rebuilding. To find holiness in the most ordinary parts of life. To live in a world and reality that is not yet whole, and still choose to bring more light.
MCM is more just a mikvah. It’s a mikdash me’at – a miniature sanctuary and replica of the Beis Hamikdash. Like the women who walk through its doors, it’s a space that carries both the brokenness and the beauty, the hard moments and the joyful ones, the pain and the purpose. Because despite what we’ve been through, we always find a way to move forward.
By participating in the MCM Auction, you’re taking part in this rebuilding. You’re supporting a space where women are cared for, honored, and uplifted… no matter what kind of day they’ve had.
This year’s prizes are more than just beautiful gifts. They’re tributes – to the legendary women who came before us, and to the women who are building the future today. Women who carry careers and children, grief and joy, chaos and calm. Women who balance it all with grace.
On Tisha B’Av, we mourn. But we also celebrate the birth of Moshiach. We dream of better days while carrying the grief of our past. We build, even in the midst of our brokenness.
Today, support this powerful mitzvah and get the chance to win luxurious prizes!
