So nice!!!

Answer to tuition problem

I was recently at a wedding and couldn’t help but notice how much money is spent. Especially counting travel of out of town guests, lost productivity, etc. I realized that that amount spent was almost equal to the cost of half the education of a chosen and kalla.

its so easy to always second guess

ULY did a great job effring this package if its not for you its not for you, it is way cheaper then you would pay for the same package if you built it yourself.
Great job ULY, no 1 package could be perfect for all people , But Hashem Knows ULY is trying, Trying to make a differance, trying to pay their teachers ETC.

Why not do, what people started doing, a small meal for only very close family members and then a reception style come and go (similar to l’chaim)
it works out much cheaper and even more importantly, people do not waiste their entire evening sitting at an event they do not want .
Better spend time with kids and family at homeQ

Lovely, but...

This is what I would consider reasonable for a nice wedding. A Bar Mitzvah boy needs 2 pairs of tefillin and hat on top of all this celebrating. That could run betwen $1500-$2000 all by itself. While I understand that there are social pressures, I for one will not be able to do such a simcha for each of my 4 children and will not impoverish myself in order to “keep up.”

Now that’s a great idea. A wedding for that price would be awesome. But a weddign does have many addditional expenses her and there so would end up being more. Still a good idea.

Does anyone know if they would do a wedding for same package price.

I think that every boy needs a nice bar mitzvah.
However, I think ULY should offer another pkg.
for people who would like the smaller hall for
approximately 75 people,a choice of video or
photography, a 1 piece band and only 3 courses
served. I would consider a price of $3500.00 affordable.

Shocked!!

Am I the only one that is shocked that $6499 is an affordable Bar Mitzvah?? Im thinking we should be scaling back…making them at home…and putting some money for the boy when he starts out in life. Lets face it…we’re living way beyond our means…and THIS is so unnecessary!

I booked too!

I am making a bar mitzvah soon and priced basic stuff out. You are literally saving a minimum of 3-4 thousand dollars with this package.

Is this a good price?

I made a Bar Mitzva without professional photography and video? Why is that needed? It’s not a chasuna.
My Bar mitzva costed a lot less.

nice idea but can be improved on...

that still sounds like a lot of money. Why not make the the photographer and band optional – you can always use ipods and have a friend take pictures. Also 4 courses????? 3 is plenty. Only in america can people eat that much food.

agree
