In 5690 (1930), the Frierdieker Rebbe spent a year in America during which he visited several US cities. One of those cities was Baltimore, where he stayed for three weeks, from 12 Teves until 4 Shvat.
On Chof Daled Teves, the Frierdiker Rebbe visited the Tzemach Tzedek Lubavitch shul where he davened maariv and delivered a maamar beginning with the words ‘Yehi Hashem Elokeinu Imonu’.
95 years later, the Cheder Chabad Baltimore Summer Program had the zechus to visit the shul on Tuesday, 12 Tammuz, in honor of the day of the Frierdiker Rebbe’s birthday and Chag Hageulah, for a very special trip.
The campers got a tour of the shul, seeing where the Frierdiker Rebbe said a maamer 95 years earlier, sang a few niggunim and said the 12 Pesukim. Afterwards, the older bunks had fabrengens with their staff at various Shluchim around the area, while the younger division had a special rally, including a special video presentation prepared by the staff.
