Over 400 people from Crown Heights joined for a Chanukah ice skating event at Brooklyn’s Prospect Park on Monday, the eighth day of Chanukah.
The community-wide event was organized by Bais Shmuel Chabad of Crown Heights, which organizes many community events throughout the year.
The crowd proudly celebrated Chanukah in the public park, enjoying hot latkes, doughnuts and pizza and family ice skating to Jewish music at the Le Frak rink.
The children gathered to recite the 12 pesukim and Chanukah gelt was distributed to the over 300 children in attendance by Bais Shmuel President Rabbi Moshe Pinson.
Volunteers of both Shmira and Shomrim were on hand to provide security for the event.
The event sponsors were Sweet Expressions, Oak Tree Insurance, Brooklyn Brokerage and Bais Shmuel Chabad.
