Over 350 Bais Rivkah staff members gathered for a meaningful Staff Appreciation Melave Malka recently, dedicated to recognizing the women who shape generations with dedication and care.
The evening was beautifully catered by Mrs. Esther Edelman, whose delicious food added warmth and enjoyment to the night. The program was thoughtfully guided by MC Mrs. Rivky Sternberg, a beloved 5th grade morah, who led the evening with clarity and heart.
Opening words were delivered by Rabbi Sholom Goldstein, Executive Director, followed by Tehillim recited by Mrs. Dena Gorkin, a seminary teacher, and Mrs. Simi Hecht, a high school teacher.
Rabbi Yerachmiel Jacobson, a member of the Bais Rivkah board, spoke about the defining kindness of a teacher, noting how one small act leaves an imprint that can last a lifetime. The keynote address was delivered by Rabbi Shalom Paltiel, who passionately addressed the responsibility and privilege of teaching, and the far-reaching influence teachers have well beyond the classroom.
A creative candle-painting craft added a light and cheerful element to the evening, offering staff an opportunity to relax and enjoy time together.
One of the most moving segments of the program was A Journey Through Bais Rivkah. Third graders Doba and Chana Gancz, eighth grader Chana Silberstrom, and twelfth grader Aidel Klein shared a heartfelt poem reflecting on what their morahs have taught them throughout their years in Bais Rivkah, not only in academic subjects, but in the development of their middos.
The evening also included a tenure recognition led by Mrs. Shana Tiechtel, honoring staff members who have dedicated many years to Bais Rivkah. Each honoree received a plaque in recognition of their years of commitment and the role they continue to play within the school.
Behind the scenes, Rabbi Benny Wolf was integral to the planning, setup, and smooth management of the building throughout the evening. Despite the freezing weather, transportation was coordinated seamlessly by Mendy Richler together with the Bais Rivkah transportation team, ensuring staff arrived and returned safely and comfortably.
As the night concluded, every staff member went home with a beautiful Havdalah set, reflecting the light, care, and consistency they bring into the lives of their students.
Bais Rivkah extends a heartfelt thank you to our school leadership, staff, and teachers for their dedication, partnership, and for all that they do on behalf of our students.
