“Inspiring.” “Beautiful.” “Elegant.”
That was the reaction of staff members at Bais Rivkah in Crown Heights who were honored and thanked at an appreciation event. The event, coordinated by Chana Paltiel and Menucha Oster, went all out to make staff feel appreciated.
The Rosa Hall at Campus Chomesh on Lefferts Avenue was elegantly set up with round tables, soft lighting and floral arrangements. The food was tastefully catered by Table One. The beautiful atmosphere was complemented by a rich program.
The theme of the evening was “K’Shoshana bein Hachochachim,” “Raising Roses Among Thorns.” Rivkah Imeinu taught us to bloom like a rose among thorns and not to be influenced by our surroundings. Bais Rivkah, which bears her name, continues the instruction to educate its students to remain pure in every situation.
Mrs. Tani Lerman emceed the event and Dean Rabbi Leibel Newman addressed the theme with beautiful words of wisdom. An inspiring choir, directed by Chanale Greenberg, sang the “Thank You Morah” tribute song to teachers, as well as an original song composed by Mrs. Chanie Wolf about a teacher’s commitment. The recording and arrangements were created at Music Studio NYC, organized by Chaya Mushka Spiero.
Mrs. Devori Kreiman, a veteran mechanaches from Los Angeles, was the keynote speaker. She addressed the theme and gave practical examples to show how she brought her personal experiences into the classroom, resulting in a deeper connection with students and greater relevance to her subject.
Touching video presentations showed the impact a dedicated staff member can have on a student. Mrs. Tzirl Goldman and Ms. Chana Hirschkowitz, two Bais Rivkah teachers, led an interactive game that got the room moving.
Mrs. Sara Blau, a passionate educator involved in multiple programs in Bais Rivkah, spoke about the important issues Chinuch is facing today and what we can do practically to have our voices heard. (protectchinuch.com)
The tribute continued by honoring four teachers who have dedicated years of their lives to Bais Rivkah. Morah Tiechtel presented a plaque to Morah Korf, Mrs. Laine, Mrs. Schildkraut and Mrs. Gelfand, four women who have influenced generations in their time in the classroom.
Luxury raffles were held for two Kate Spade bags, a palette session, a Versace perfume and a gift card from Tzfasmans.
Each staff member received a beautiful gift bag with a teshura on the theme, compiled by Moussie Berkowitz, with the Rebbe’s words about the chinuch of girls. The gift bag also contains a mini perfume from Jimmy Choo, hand lotion, a beautiful bracelet from Delmar Jewelers and a gift certificate to Artisan Bakehouse.
