Earlier this month, the Chabad Seminary of Austria embarked on an inspiring shabbaton to Budapest, Hungary, to experience Shlichus up close — one of the key focuses in their well-rounded seminary program.
The visit allowed the girls to witness the remarkable work of Chabad Shluchim across Europe and draw strength from their devotion and love for every Jew.
On Friday night, the group joined the Chabad House “Keren Or”, led by Rabbi Shmuel Raskin and his family, where nearly 300 guests filled the hall with song, warmth, and Yiddishkeit.
After the meal, the girls participated in a special farbrengen at the home of Rabbi Baruch Oberlander, Head Shliach to Hungary, and his family, who shared captivating stories from the early days of their Shlichus and uplifting lessons for life.
Motzaei Shabbos featured a beautiful cruise on the Danube River, offering a breathtaking view of the illuminated city.
The evening concluded with a Melaveh Malka at the C-TEEN center, directed by Rabbi Tzemmy Bassman and his family—a vibrant hub for Jewish youth in Budapest that left a deep and lasting impression on everyone.
On Sunday morning, the group visited the magnificent Chabad House on the banks of the Danube, directed by Rabbi Shmuel Glitzenstein and his family. There, the girls heard an inspiring talk from the Shlucha Mrs. Chaya Radziner, who shared her experiences and heartfelt words about life on Shlichus.
A city tour followed, highlighting both Budapest’s rich Jewish history and its living, growing Chabad presence.
The girls returned uplifted and inspired, with renewed motivation to live their lives infused with the spirit of Shlichus—wherever they may be.
“Seeing the Shluchim in action made everything we learn in class come alive,” shared one student. “It showed us what it truly means to live for the Rebbe’s Shlichus—with joy, dedication, and love.”
