On Tuesday, students at Arizona State University marked 9/11 by committing to a mitzvah that they would do in honor of the victims of 9/11.
“We saw a lot of students stopping by to add their mitzvah to the list throughout the day,” says Rabbi Shmuel Tiechtel, director of Chabad at ASU.
The event, called ‘Mitzvah Marathon, is now in its second year.
Tiechtel and a group of students set up shop in the center of campus, and students “were eager to make a resolution to do a good deed in commemoration of 9/11.”
In total, students took on 300 mitzvos. “It was a meaningful way to remember the victims,” he says.
