New York State Assemblyman Karim Camara last week honored the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council and its Executive Director, Rabbi Eli Cohen.
Camara, whose 43rd Assembly District in Brooklyn includes Crown Heights, gave the award during his State of the District address on April 29 at SUNY DownState Medical Center.
Cohen’s award cited the Council’s work in bringing harmony to the community and serving all its residents with newly established services and programs.
The Assemblyman thanked Cohen for his dedication and service to the community and pledged his continued support.
Among the honorees were Dr. Una Clarke, former NYC Council Member for Crown Heights and Dr. Roy Hastick, CEO of the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACCI).
Rabbi Simon Jacobson, Dean of the Meaningful Life Center, delivered the benediction.
