Crown Heights residents gathered at Mendy’s Restaurant on Kingston Avenue to create a banner to be displayed at a neighborhood arts and food festival this week.
Artists Shevy Levin, Shakespeare Guirand and Shayna Denburg were on hand to creatively direct the diverse group of young and old residents who joined for the collaborative effort.
The banner will be displayed at the Crown Heights Winter Fest, produced by Brooklyn based organization Seeds in the Middle and taking place this Thursday and Saturday at PS 221 in Crown Heights.
The artists will also be on hand at the Festival which will feature a farmer’s market, flea market, art, health screenings and more.
